Diana Frankovic

Diana Frankovic is a Berlin-based strategic AI consultant and linguist. She works with leading global technology companies, training AI systems, advising on AI-driven language and communication and focusing above all on quality control. Her strength is translating complex technical and geopolitical realities into clear, precise narratives.

Journalism

Her foundation is journalism. From 2004 to 2022, she was a presenter and foreign reporter for ARD, Germany’s public broadcaster, on Fritz (rbb) and COSMO (WDR). She conducted more than 35,000 interviews with policymakers, diplomats and civil society on politics, international relations, climate, migration and gender. Her assignments took her to Tibet, Nepal and the Himalaya, to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan, to the United States, South Africa, South America and Australia. After a long closure of Tibet to foreign media, she was the first Western journalist to report from Lhasa. Her radio feature on Tibet’s silent struggle for identity, broadcast on Kulturradio rbb and Deutschlandradio Kultur, won the Snow Lion Award in 2014. In 2015 and 2017 she was awarded the IJP Asia Fellowship, funded by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation and the German Federal Foreign Office.

Film & Art

As a filmmaker and visual artist, she explored spirituality, time and space. Her debut, the art house documentary The Sad Monk, screened at 80 festivals in more than 35 countries and won 20 international awards, among them Best Documentary at the Roma Creative Contest 2016 and the Van Gogh Award for World Directing at the Amsterdam Film Festival 2017. She created projection mapping and visual shows for the Festival of Lights Berlin, for Burning Man and AfrikaBurn, and her work received a Semi-Honorable Mention at Art Olympia 2019 in Tokyo.

Education

She holds an M.A. in English Studies, Political Science, and Media and Communication Studies from Freie Universität Berlin.
